Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to support on-site maintenance and troubleshooting of solar PV facilities, including inverters and high-voltage equipment. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and ongoing learning under experienced staff.

Travel to sites nationwide is required, with on-call duties as needed. The position is field-based, with no fixed office assignment, and offers benefits aligned with a field operations role.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of relevant field experience in solar, electrical, or a related technical trade.
• QEW sign-off or ability to obtain sign-off within onboarding period.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings including fuses, breakers, and BoS equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to travel ~20% and work on-call weekends as needed.
• FAA Part 107 certification, Technical Writing course, MV training in progress or completed.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in all tasks.
• Support routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities.
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance.
• Inspect vegetation and site equipment monthly and document findings.
• Log service reports and maintenance data into required systems.
• Assist in pre-job brief analyses and on-site safety practices.
