Job summary

ACT Power Services seeks a Solar Field Service Technician to support safe, productive field operations at commercial and utility-scale solar PV plants. You will assist in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to maximize production while learning across modules, trackers, inverters, and MV equipment.

The role is field-based, requires travel, on-call work, and a strong safety mindset. Training and advancement opportunities are provided within the ACTivate Technician Track.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of solar/electrical field experience or ACT Apprentice program.
• Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) sign-off or onboarding period.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification or within 90 days.
• Ability to read drawings and identify major BoS equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Willingness to travel ~20% and work on-call on weekends.
• FAA Part 107, Technical Writing course, and HV/MV training in progress.

Responsibilities

• Uphold high safety standards in all tasks.
• Support preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of solar facilities.
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance.
• Conduct monthly vegetation and site equipment inspections.
• Log data into Fiix, TrueContext, Deputy, and ACT SharePoint.
• Coordinate vehicle inspections and warranty claims as needed.
• Participate in Good Catch Program and safety observations.
• Attend maintenance and technical writing training.
