Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to support on-site maintenance and repairs for solar PV plants, focusing on safety, troubleshooting, and preventative work. This field-based role operates at customer sites across the United States, with travel and on-call duties as needed.

The role offers opportunities to work with inverters, trackers, and medium-voltage equipment, with ongoing training and safety programs to advance technical skills within the ACTivate Technician

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of field experience in solar, electrical, or related tech.
• QEW sign-off, or ability to obtain within onboarding period.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and identify fuses/breakers/switches/BoS equipment.
• Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel ~20% and be on-call.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in all work.
• Assist in preventative maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities.
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance support.
• Conduct routine vegetation and site equipment inspections, including monthly checks.
• Replace damaged components as directed and perform basic electrical testing.
• Log data and maintain service reports, safety paperwork, and spare parts inventory.
• Dispatch and coordinate remediation for repairs under 50V.
• Participate in pre-job briefings and safety programs.
