Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to support on-site operations at solar PV plants, ensuring safety and productive performance. This role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across modules, trackers, inverters, and medium-voltage gear while learning under senior technicians.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of field experience in solar, electrical, or a related technical trade or completion of ACT Apprentice program.
• QEW sign-off is required or obtainable within onboarding period.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification or obtainable within 90 days of start.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, identify fuses, breakers, and major BoS equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
• Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel ~20% of the time.
• FAA Part 107 certification and ACT HV/MV training completed or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything you do.
• Assist in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities including inverters and MV equipment.
• Perform tracker inspections, basic maintenance, and site equipment checks.
• Log data and maintain service reports, safety paperwork, and inventory.
• Coordinate with dispatch for repairs and warranty claims as needed.
• Attend training on maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical writing.
