Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on solar PV facilities in field locations across the United States. The role requires safety-first mindset and hands-on work with inverters, trackers, and medium-voltage equipment.

Ideal candidates have 6 months to 1 year in solar or related trades, OSHA 10, QEW sign-off, and ability to read drawings. Travel ~20% and on-call availability are required.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of relevant field experience in solar, electrical, or a related trade or completion of ACT's Apprentice program.
• QEW sign-off, or ability to obtain within onboarding period.
• OSHA 10 General Industry cert, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings (fuses, breakers, switches, BoS equipment).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
• Valid Driver's License; willingness to travel ~20% and work on-call on weekends/off-hours.
• FAA Part 107 certification, a Technical Writing course, and ACT High Voltage/Medium Voltage training completed or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Uphold high safety standards in all tasks.
• Assist in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar PV facilities.
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance support.
• Conduct monthly site inspections and log service reports and safety paperwork.
• Log data into Fiix, TrueContext, Deputy, and ACT SharePoint; manage spare parts inventory.
