Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to support preventive maintenance and repairs at commercial and utility-scale solar plants. You will troubleshoot, inspect, and service inverters, trackers, and medium-voltage equipment while maintaining safety and reliability.

Based in the field, you will travel to customer sites, collaborate with field leadership, and participate in ongoing training. This role requires safety discipline and flexibility for on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of field experience in solar, electrical, or related technical trade; or completion of ACT's Apprentice program.
• QEW sign-off or ability to obtain within onboarding period.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to read/interprete drawings with identification of fuses, breakers, switches, and BoS equipment.

Responsibilities

• Uphold high safety standards in all tasks.
• Assist in preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities including inverters.
• Perform string-level troubleshooting and tracker inspections.
• Conduct vegetation and site equipment inspections monthly.
• Log service reports, inspections, safety paperwork, and spare parts inventory.
