Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Field Service Technician to support safe, productive day-to-day on-site operations at solar PV plants. You will participate in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across inverters, trackers, and medium-voltage equipment, while upholding stringent safety standards and quality records.

Based in the field, you will travel to client sites, document work orders, and coordinate with Field Leadership.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of relevant field experience in solar, electrical, or related technical trades
• Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) sign-off or ability to obtain within onboarding period
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification or ability to obtain within first 90 days
• Ability to read and interpret drawings including fuses, breakers, switches, power sources
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to travel around 20% and work on-call during off-hours
• FAA Part 107 certification or related training in progress

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in all tasks
• Assist in preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities including inverter maintenance
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance support
• Conduct vegetation and site equipment inspections, including monthly checks
• Log data and maintain service reports, inspection docs, safety paperwork, and inventory
• Initiate warranty claims with vendors as needed
• Identify safety hazards and take actions to mitigate them
• Attend maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical writing trainings
