Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) to perform field maintenance and learn to follow safe work practices in the solar industry. This is a contingent role with a potential to transition to a permanent position, located full-time on a jobsite in Shelbyville, NC.

Responsibilities include fault diagnosis, basic testing, and servicing solar equipment across plants, with on-call duties and strict safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; vocational/technical training a plus.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to identify and perform Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts/systems.
• Basic knowledge of testing equipment and solar installation practices.
• Must obtain NFPA 70e safety training and stay updated.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety and enforce safe work practices on site.
• Operate and care for company property, equipment, and tooling.
• Service solar equipment in multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting and maintenance under supervision.
• Respond to on-call requests for emergency equipment repairs.
• Document work performed and prepare required reports.
• Collaborate on process improvements and coordinate with EPC management.
