Job summary

New Energy Equity is seeking a Field Service Technician II – Solar in the Las Cruces, NM area. The role involves in-person work at solar sites, with advanced inspections, preventative maintenance, and detailed troubleshooting in high-voltage environments.

You’ll guide junior technicians and progress toward Technician III along a defined development path. Requirements include 2+ years of hands-on technical work and strong electrical/diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of hands-on technical work in any industry.
• Strong electrical and diagnostic skills; ability to work independently in high-voltage environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example in field safety and PPE selection.
• Perform electrical and mechanical inspections of solar energy systems.
• Troubleshoot complex site issues with minimal supervision.
• Create detailed reports and actionable recommendations.
• Share knowledge with junior technicians and support training materials.
