Job summary

SOLV Energy, LLC in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician, Level 1 to perform site maintenance under supervision. This full-time on-site role emphasizes safety, learning, and adherence to solar industry practices while supporting multiple plants as assigned.

Responsibilities include basic testing, troubleshooting, replacing parts, documenting work, and staying current with safety trainings. You’ll work on-call as needed and travel up to 10% for training and site coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Mechanical or electrical background through training or work experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to perform Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts/systems.
• Basic understanding of a solar installation/plant.
• Basic knowledge of testing equipment.
• Basic computer operation skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• NFPA 70e Safety Training certification.
• Proficient English communication and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather and travel up to 10%.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the top priority; follow safe practices at all times.
• Operate and care for company property and tooling.
• Service solar equipment at multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Replace or repair solar parts under supervision.
• Respond to on-call emergencies as directed.
• Prepare accurate documentation and reports of work performed.
• Collaborate with EPC management on process improvements.
