Job summary

Pearce is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician I (Utility-Scale / PV Repair) to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain large solar farms. You will perform tests, operate and upskill safety procedures on inverters and power equipment, with frequent travel to sites across North America.

The role demands 1–2+ years in utility-scale solar, strong electrical skills, OSHA/NFPA 70E compliance, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. DOE will apply for hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of utility-scale solar experience.
• Experience with megawatt-scale PV systems (ground-mount).
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Experience with solar O&M / maintenance work.
• OSHA/NFPA 70E safety knowledge.
• Proficient with testing tools and basic computer use.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar systems (inverters, boxes, string circuits).
• Perform testing: LOTO, IV tracing, insulation testing, IR scans.
• O&M on utility-scale solar plants; ensure safety and quality.
• Document work orders and service logs; maintain records.
• Operate and maintain company vehicle, tools and equipment.
