Job summary

Pearce Services in Houston is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician II to support utility-scale PV projects. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain large solar farms, ensuring safety and schedule adherence.

This role requires hands-on experience with ground‑mount PV systems and power plant equipment in a mobile, travel-heavy environment. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of utility-scale solar experience, strong electrical repair skills, and working knowledge of OSHA/NFPA 70E standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of utility-scale solar experience
• Experience on megawatt-scale PV systems
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Experience with Solar O&M / maintenance
• Working knowledge of OSHA / NFPA 70E safety standards
• Experience using multimeters, megger, amp clamps, and testing equipment
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits
• Perform testing: LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, IR scans
• Assign work, track progress, and keep jobs on schedule
• Perform operations and maintenance (O&M) on utility-scale solar plants
• Inspect completed work and ensure it meets quality and safety standards
• Enforce safety requirements (OSHA, NFPA 70E) on-site
• Diagnose system issues and resolve them in the field
• Complete work orders, service logs, and required documentation
• Operate and maintain company vehicle and tools
• Train and support junior technicians in the field
