Job summary

Pearce Services seeks an experienced Solar Field Service Technician III for utility-scale solar farms. You will troubleshoot and repair ground-mount systems, inverters, and power plant equipment, ensuring safety and on-schedule work. This hands-on role requires megawatt-scale project experience and leadership on-site.

Responsibilities include testing, O&M, safety enforcement, and thorough documentation while traveling to sites across North America.

Qualifications

• 4-5+ years of utility-scale solar experience on ground-mount systems or solar farms.
• Experience leading crews or acting as lead tech on-site.
• Experience with megawatt-scale PV systems and troubleshooting.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills (inverters, DC systems, power electronics).
• Experience with Solar O&M and safety standards (OSHA/NFPA 70E).
• Familiarity with testing tools: multimeters, meggers, amp clamps.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar systems, including inverters and string circuits.
• Perform testing: LOTO, IV curve tracing, insulation testing, IR scans.
• Assign work, track progress, and keep jobs on schedule.
• Perform O&M on utility-scale solar plants.
• Inspect completed work for quality and safety compliance.
• Enforce safety requirements on-site.
• Diagnose system issues and resolve in the field.
• Complete work orders, logs, and required documentation.
• Operate and maintain company vehicle and tools.
• Train and support junior technicians in the field.
