Job summary

Pearce is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician II to work on utility-scale solar farms across North America.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain solar systems, ensure safety and schedule adherence, and operate on-site with travel to multiple sites. This hands-on role requires 3+ years in utility-scale solar and strong electrical skills, with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of utility-scale solar experience.
• Experience on megawatt-scale PV systems.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• OSHA/NFPA 70E safety knowledge.
• Experience with testing equipment like multimeters and meggers.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits.
• Perform testing: LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, IR scans.
• Assign work, track progress, and keep jobs on schedule.
• Perform O&M on utility-scale solar plants.
• Inspect completed work and ensure quality and safety standards.
• Enforce safety requirements on-site (OSHA, NFPA 70E).
• Diagnose system issues and resolve them in the field.
• Complete work orders, service logs, and required documentation.
• Operate and maintain company vehicle and tools.
• Train and support junior technicians in the field.
