Job summary

Pearce Services in the United States is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician III (Utility‑Scale / PV Repair). You’ll work on large, utility‑scale solar farms—troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining ground‑mount systems, central/string inverters, and power plant equipment.

This hands‑on role requires real on‑site experience on megawatt‑scale projects. This 100% travel position emphasizes safety and on‑time delivery, with testing, O&M, quality inspections, and mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

• 4–5+ years of utility-scale solar experience (solar farms / ground-mount systems).
• Experience leading crews or acting as lead tech on-site.
• Experience working on megawatt-scale PV systems.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills (inverters, DC systems, power electronics).
• Experience with Solar O&M / maintenance work.
• Working knowledge of OSHA/NFPA 70E safety standards.
• Experience using testing equipment (multimeters, meggers, clamps).
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits.
• Perform testing: LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, IR scans.
• Assign work, track progress, and keep jobs on schedule.
• Perform O&M on utility-scale solar plants.
• Inspect completed work and ensure it meets quality and safety standards.
• Enforce safety requirements (OSHA, NFPA 70E) on-site.
• Diagnose system issues and resolve them in the field.
• Complete work orders, service logs, and required documentation.
• Operate and maintain company vehicle and tools.
• Train and support junior technicians in the field.
