Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Solar Equipment Service Engineer in Boston for hands-on field service, remote support, and on-site installations. This role supports a small, globally distributed team, handling service calls, troubleshooting, and parts management.

The ideal candidate has technical education and hands-on experience with motors and renewable energy equipment, with travel up to 15% within North America. On-site work and independent execution are essential.

Qualifications

• Ownership mentality with the ability to collaborate across distributed teams.
• Interest in improving products, processes, the organization, or yourself.
• Technical education as stated: high school diploma plus vocational/trade or an associate/bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy.
• Hands‑on field experience with motors and motion systems, electrical interconnections, and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., work on ladders, and use hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

• Handle North American service cases via email/phone; meet response and resolution targets.
• Perform field service calls, oversee installations, and provide training.
• Collaborate with global team members to escalate issues to engineering and develop solutions.
• Manage North American spare parts and inventory optimization.
• Conduct system and component failure analysis, refurbishment, and testing.
