Job summary

Otovo SRL in the Tampa area is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar systems, battery storage, and generators. This role fits an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands‑on technical work and customer service while advancing clean energy.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and NEC/AHJ compliance on-site, traveling locally as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel locally and work overtime as needed.
• State‑required electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout processes, and fall protection requirements.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty‑related repairs as needed.
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and repair recommendations.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.
