About the Role

We are seeking a hands‑on, execution-focused Solar Equipment Service Engineer to join our customer service and engineering team. This role combines remote customer support, troubleshooting, field service, installation support, and replacement parts management.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, handling service cases by phone and email, and completing on-site service calls. The position is part of a small, globally distributed team supporting customer service, engineering, and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle North American service cases, including email and phone support, remote troubleshooting, and proactive outreach campaigns. Meet service metrics including response time, case resolution time, and cost per case.
  • Independently perform field service calls, including break‑fix and maintenance visits; oversee installations and provide training.
  • Partner with global team members to escalte field issues to engineering, identify top failure modes, and develop solutions.
  • Manage North American spare parts, including customer fulfillment and inventory optimization.
  • Conduct system and component failure analysis, refurbishment, and testing as needed.
  • Lead initiatives to improve service delivery, serviceability, and cost.
Your Qualifications

  • Demonstrated interest in improving products, processes, the organization, or yourself.
  • Completed technical education: high school diploma plus vocational training, trade school, or an associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy.
  • Hands‑on field experience with motors and motion systems, electrical interconnections, and equipment maintenance. Experience with photovoltaic systems or industrial equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to lift awkwardly shaped objects weighing up to 75 lbs., work on ladders, and bend and reach into tight spaces. Ability to use hand and power tools to complete mechanical work.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with common business and collaboration tools, such as Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Office, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within North America up to 15%.
  • Current U.S. passport holder.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. This position does not provide sponsorship.
Nice to have:
  • Licensed forklift operator and working knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70E.
