Job summary

Moss is seeking a Solar Electrical Field Engineer to support large utility-scale solar projects nationwide. You will assist the Electrical Assistant and Project Manager in administrative and technical management, including schedule coordination, submittals, procurement, and field oversight.

This exempt, salaried role requires a bachelor’s in construction management or engineering, solar internship or project engineer experience, and strong communication skills; willingness to travel across

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Six months to one-year minimum solar internship or project engineer experience in construction.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to communicate with owners, A/E teams and regulators.
  • Basic finance skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates project start-up by reviewing owner contract, startup checklist, site utilization plan, mobilization, subcontractor/vendor selection, milestones, Prolog setup, scheduling, and orientation.
  • Expedites materials by developing submittal log, fabrication/delivery schedule, delivery confirmation, submittal/SD reviews, and material coordination.
  • Coordinates construction activities with Superintendent, pre-con meetings, schedule updates, QC inspections, safety compliance, and meetings.
  • Facilitates project administration: expedites subcontractor/vendor agreements, assists with insurance/bonds, prepares meeting agendas/minutes, manages files and status reports, administers RFI process.
  • Tracks costs: processes pay requests, tracks owner payments, back charges, and updates labor cost reports.
  • Supports change order process: creates requests, assesses scope/schedule impacts, negotiates pricing, and prepares cost proposals.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
