Job summary

Moss is seeking a Solar Electrical Field Engineer to support large utility-scale solar projects across multiple states. Responsibilities include startup coordination, submittal and procurement processes, scheduling, and on-site coordination with the project team.

The role requires a bachelor’s in construction management or engineering, plus six months to a year of solar internship or project engineer experience, and strong computer and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Six months to one-year minimum Solar internship or full-time experience as a project engineer or assistant project engineer in the construction industry.
  • Strong computer skills are a necessity, including familiarity with construction project management applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and are required to interface directly with owners' representatives, the A/E team, building departments and other team members.
  • Basic finance skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates project start-up by engaging in activities such as reviewing owner contract, startup checklist, site utilization plan, mobilization, subcontractor & vendor selection, and schedule development.
  • Expedites materials by developing submittal logs, fabrication and delivery schedules, and coordinating material status and deliveries.
  • Coordinates construction activities, attends meetings, maintains tracking logs, ensures safety compliance, and supports project coordination with user groups and agencies.
  • Facilitates project administration by managing subcontractor/vendor agreements, insurance, bond processes, meeting minutes, project status reports, and RFI processes.
  • Tracks project costs by processing pay requests, tracking owner payments, and updating labor cost reports.
  • Supports management for change orders by preparing proposals, evaluating scope changes, and negotiating costs.
