Job summary

Moss is seeking a Solar Electrical Field Engineer to support large utility-scale solar projects across multiple states. This role works with the Electrical Assistant and Electrical Project Manager on contracts, submittals, procurement, and scheduling, emphasizing safety and quality.

The position requires interaction with owners, A/E teams, and subcontractors, coordinating startup activities, material expediting, and field installations while tracking costs and change orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline.
• Six months to one-year minimum Solar internship or full-time experience as a project engineer or assistant project engineer in the construction industry.
• Strong computer skills are a necessity, including familiarity with construction project management applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and are required to interface directly with owners' representatives, the A/E team, building departments and other team members.
• Basic finance skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates project start-up, including reviews of owner contract, startup checklist, mobilization, subcontractor and vendor selection.
• Expedites materials with submittal logs, delivery schedules, and fabrication status tracking.
• Coordinates construction activities, including pre-construction meetings, schedule updates, QC inspections, and safety compliance.
• Facilitates project administration: subcontractor/vendor agreements, RFI process, and project status reporting.
• Tracks costs: pay requests, owner payments, back charges, and labor cost reports.
• Supports change order process: creates change requests, analyzes scope changes, and negotiates costs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
