Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Field Operations Technician 1 to join the team at Waikoloa on the Big Island. You will support preventive and corrective maintenance for PV solar systems, inverters, and BESS containers, collaborating with Senior Technicians to keep equipment operating efficiently.

Applicants should have 1 year of solar PV tech experience or 3 years in a power plant, and a technical degree or Journeyman qualification is a plus. Onsite work with some regional travel is expected.

• Technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualification is a plus.
• 1 year of experience as a solar PV technician or 3 years in a power plant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Listen, collaborate, and apply advanced troubleshooting; support the team at solar+battery facilities.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PV solar modules, inverters, and BESS containers.
• Ensure safety and environmental obligations; produce high‑quality O&M documentation.
