OnPoint Insights LLC is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our core software development team for Automated Test Equipment (ATE). You will provide technical direction, drive delivery, and partner with product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, architectural vision, and the use of Generative AI tools to boost productivity and throughput across geographically distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field from an accredited university.
• 10+ years of experience in software development or software sustaining engineering.
• 5+ years of direct management, technical leadership, project leadership, or team leadership experience.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI tools, with a demonstrated track record of using AI to improve software engineering productivity and team throughput.
• Experience with C#, VBA, embedded systems, and multithreaded programming.
• Strong understanding of software development processes, technical architecture, and engineering practices.
• Strong project and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and cross-functional initiatives.
• Ability to establish clear goals and priorities, track progress and metrics, and drive teams toward successful project outcomes.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, cross-functional teams, senior management, and directors.
• Experience reading, evaluating, and interpreting technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of risk management and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Understanding of production concepts such as time-to-market, cost of test, and yield management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Strong commitment to software and product quality.
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate engineering challenges and develop practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a software engineering team responsible for design, development, testing, and delivery of core ATE software.
• Provide architectural and technical guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Lead Agile development practices and ensure successful delivery of software features and releases.
• Partner with product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to align technical execution with business objectives.
• Identify and proactively manage technical risks, dependencies, and project priorities.
• Drive continuous improvement in development processes, CI/CD practices, quality metrics, and operational standards.
• Establish team goals aligned with organizational strategy and provide coaching, mentoring, and career development.
• Build and maintain a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and development of engineering talent while making appropriate staffing decisions based on business needs.
• Manage team members and projects across multiple geographic locations.
• Provide regular project, technical, and operational updates to senior leadership and directors.
• Promote the effective use of Generative AI tools to improve engineering productivity, quality, and delivery.
