Job summary

Total Expert Inc. is seeking an experienced Manager, Software Engineering to lead an engineering team within our Product and Engineering organization in Dallas.

You will drive continuous value delivery, collaborate with Product, and shape technical direction while staying hands-on in architectural discussions. We expect 5+ years of leadership in a distributed microservices environment, strong Agile experience, and familiarity with AI-assisted tooling to boost developer productivity and software

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing a software team and providing technical direction.
• 5+ years of experience in a team-based event-driven distributed microservices environment.
• Demonstrated architectural depth and debugging capability.
• Experience leading Agile/Lean development practices (Scrum or Kanban).
• Experience with AI-assisted development tooling and integrating AI into workflows.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product and other Engineering leaders to set priorities, manage work in progress, and provide technical direction.
• Actively participate in architectural discussions and technical design reviews, bringing hands-on expertise to shape decisions.
• Coach team members on problem analysis, estimating, software design, development, and testing within Agile methodology.
• Drive Agile processes with a focus on quality and lean principles.
• Champion AI-assisted development practices (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, etc.) to boost productivity and quality.
• Support department-level objectives and improve velocity and quality across Engineering teams.
• Ongoing management and professional development of team members, mentoring and expanding domain knowledge.
