Job summary

CVS Health in the United States is seeking a Software Engineer for Workforce Insights to develop and operate software across Python services, SQL transformations, and BI integrations. You will partner with data and HR specialists to translate requirements into maintainable code, tests, and releases.

This role focuses on analytics stack knowledge, security, and quality, with collaboration across data engineers, analysts, and HR partners to ensure accurate metrics and robust dashboards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of Python or a comparable language with automated tests.
• 3+ years building/integrating APIs, services, data workflows, or production systems.
• 3+ years across app code, data transformations, and operational tooling as needed.
• 2+ years advanced SQL expertise, preferably BigQuery, including scripting and optimization.
• 2+ years Kimball dimensional modeling concepts and patterns.
• 2+ years with Airflow or Cloud Composer and Python for ETL and troubleshooting.
• 2+ years cloud data platforms (GCP preferred) including IAM and Secrets Manager.
• 1+ year experience with an enterprise BI/Semantic layer like Superset/Power BI.
• 1+ year experience with Git, code review, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• 1+ year tracing data discrepancies and communicating findings.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain software features across Python, SQL, and workflow code.
• Translate requirements into technical tasks; collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and HR partners.
• Participate in code reviews, improve existing code, and write automated tests.
• Build and maintain BigQuery transformations and models for the product.
• Document changes, preserve metric behavior, and release with governance partners.
• Contribute to Superset datasets and dashboard integrations and support APIs and SSO.
