Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer to join our NSWC Dahlgren Division efforts, delivering advanced undersea warfare software for USW projects. This role requires a bachelor’s in engineering or CS, 5+ years in software development, and proficiency in C/C++, Java, or Ada, with UNIX/Linux experience and an active SECRET clearance.

Onsite at NSWC Dahlgren, you will collaborate with a skilled team to design, implement, test, and maintain mission-critical software, utilizing NetBeans, VxWorks,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or technical field.
5+ years in software development including analysis, design, testing and maintenance.
Proficiency in C/C++, Java or Ada.
Knowledge of RedHat/UNIX/Linux tools and utilities.
U.S. Citizenship with Active SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with development team in an agile environment to build FMS Fire Control systems.
Create, refine, and maintain software solutions for undersea warfare tech.
Provide project status insights in weekly leadership meetings.
Address challenges proactively with leadership across on-site NSWC Dahlgren.
