Job summary

Amentum in Dahlgren, VA is seeking Software Engineers to join our growing team, supporting Naval projects on-site. You will contribute to the Software Center of Excellence, using C, C++, Java, or Python to tackle complex Digital Engineering challenges and modernize Navy systems.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of software development experience, a Bachelor's degree in a technical field, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field; equivalent experience acceptable.
• Security Clearance: Must obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance (US citizenship required).
• Other: Valid driver’s license and ability to drive on/off base as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform software development in C, C++, Java, or Python.
• Support senior developers in advancing software capabilities for defense systems following Agile principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain software solutions for Naval projects.
• Work within established timelines to meet project goals.
