Amentum is hiring software engineers for on-site work in Dahlgren, VA, supporting Naval projects. You will join a growing software engineering team focused on C/C++, Java, or Python development within a DoW environment and agile workflows.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication, cross‑functional collaboration, and a drive for continuous learning while contributing to mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• 1-10 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoW security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• Experience supporting Naval software projects is a plus.
• Proven ability to work in Agile development environments.

Responsibilities

• Software requirements, architecture, and testing.
• Develop and deploy modern weapon system software in a DoD context.
• Experience with C, C++, Git, Jira, and static code analysis tools.
• Apply Agile, Scrum, and DevSecOps practices in projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across industry and government.
• Communicate effectively with Senior Managers and Program Managers.
• Work independently and with others to meet schedules.
• Pursue personal development and identify future work opportunities.
