Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Developer — Scrum Master to join the Air Traffic Business Area within the Homeland Sector, supporting the Leidos Common Automation Platform (L-CAP) on a SAFe/Agile framework. This role blends hands-on software engineering with Scrum Master leadership for an ART, delivering secure, cloud-native components.

The position offers a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) for commuting within the US; exceptions available for fully remote based on distance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; Doctorate may be accepted as equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on software engineering: design, develop, test, review, and maintain production cloud-native microservices.
• Serve as Scrum Master: facilitate ceremonies, remove impediments, drive continuous improvement.
• Lead SAFe cadence activities: PI planning, iteration planning, backlog refinement, system demos.
• Track team metrics: velocity, PI objectives, and delivery progress.
• Communicate status with Release Train Engineer, Product Owner, and stakeholders.
• Manage cross-team/ART dependencies and blockers to protect committed outcomes.
• Apply DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-assisted development tools.
• Support integration with legacy air traffic systems and next-gen components.
• Lead deployment, troubleshooting, and issue resolution in multiple environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote collaboration across teams.
