Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Developer - Scrum Master to join the Air Traffic Business Area within the Homeland Sector, supporting the Leidos Common Automation Platform (L-CAP). The role blends hands-on development with Scrum Master duties in a SAFe environment, with a 3/2 hybrid schedule for the commutable sites and 100% remote considered otherwise.

The position requires 8+ years in software engineering, strong Java and Spring experience, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science/Software Engineering or related
• 5+ years designing, developing, and reviewing production Java applications
• 2+ years as a Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile team
• Experience designing microservices and RESTful APIs (JSON/XML/XSD)
• Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Security experience
• Experience with JUnit and Mockito
• Frontend technologies: React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• Linux proficiency and Git version control
• CI/CD and modern DevOps practices
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, review, and maintain production cloud-native microservices (~50%)
• Lead Scrum Master responsibilities: facilitate ceremonies, remove impediments, drive improvements
• Guide SAFe cadence: PI planning, iteration planning, backlog refinement, system demos
• Track team metrics: velocity, PI progress for continuous improvement
• Coordinate with Release Train Engineer, Product Owner, and stakeholders on risks and delivery
• Manage cross-team dependencies and blockers
• Apply DevSecOps practices to accelerate secure software delivery
• Support integration with legacy systems and new platform components
• Assist deployment, troubleshooting, and issue resolution in environments
• Uphold code quality, automated testing, and peer review
• Mentor junior engineers and foster cross-team collaboration
