Job summary

Leidos LLC is seeking a Senior Software Developer — Scrum Master to join the Air Traffic Business Area within the Homeland Sector. You will split time between hands-on software engineering (cloud-native microservices, Java, Spring) and Scrum Master duties for an Agile Release Train, in a SAFe environment, with 3 days on-site in Gaithersburg, MD and 2 days remote if within commuting distance.

You will work on real-time, safety-critical air traffic systems, leveraging AI-assisted development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience, or a Master’s with 6+ years.
• 5+ years designing, developing, testing, and reviewing production Java applications.
• 2+ years serving as a Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile team in a large-scale environment.
• Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, JSON/XML/XSD.

Responsibilities

• Approximately 50% hands-on software engineering: design, develop, test, review, deploy, and maintain production-quality cloud-native microservices.
• Approximately 50% Scrum Master responsibilities: facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, promote continuous improvement.
• Guide SAFe cadence: PI planning, iteration planning, backlog refinement, demos, inspect-and-adapt.
• Track team metrics (velocity, PI objectives) to drive improvement.
• Coordinate with RTE, Product Owner, and stakeholders on status, risks, dependencies.
