Job summary

Leidos is seeking AI Software Developers (Jr, Mid, Senior) to join the Air Traffic Business Area and advance the Leidos Common Automation Platform (L-CAP). The role focuses on building microservices in an Agile/SAFe environment, with AI-enabled systems and Public Trust eligibility requirements.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement (3 days onsite, 2 days remote within commutable distance to Gaithersburg, MD, Eagan, MN, or Egg Harbor Township, NJ) or 100% remote for non-residents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years (Junior), 4+ years (Mid), 8+ years (Senior) depending on level.
• Production software with Java or C++ and microservices experience.
• RESTful API design and distributed systems experience.
• CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Relational/NoSQL databases knowledge.
• Git and collaborative workflows.
• Agile/SAFe familiarity and public trust eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop microservices forming the L-CAP backbone.
• Collaborate with architects to translate designs into robust implementations.
• Implement RESTful APIs and event-driven integrations in a hybrid cloud data mesh.
• Integrate relational and NoSQL databases for data consistency and performance.
• Lead code reviews and ensure coding standards.
• Mentor junior developers and support their growth.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across services and infrastructure.
