Job summary

Leidos is seeking AI Software Developers (Jr, Mid, Senior) to join the Air Traffic Business Area, supporting the L-CAP platform. You will design microservices, implement RESTful APIs, and collaborate across DevSecOps and systems teams in an AI-first environment.

The role emphasizes scalable, real-time, safety-critical software and requires ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust, with a hybrid onsite/remote work model for commutable distances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• A completed Master’s degree will account for 2 additional years of experience.
• 2+ years for Junior level; 4+ for Mid level; 8+ for Senior level.
• Proficiency in Java or C++ with production software experience.
• Experience designing and developing microservices-based applications.
• Strong RESTful API design and implementation experience.
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop microservices forming the backbone of L-CAP.
• Collaborate with architects to translate designs into robust implementations.
• Implement RESTful APIs and event-driven integrations in a hybrid cloud mesh.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring data consistency and performance.
• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across services and infrastructure.
• Document designs, APIs, and runbooks; participate in SAFe ceremonies.
• Support AI-enabled or data-driven software development initiatives.
