Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Software Engineer II, Cloud Applications to join a leader in IT. This remote role focuses on building and improving cloud-based backend services that support reliable, scalable experiences for users.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scoped projects, improve developer productivity, and balance performance, reliability, and maintainability while enhancing operability through testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of backend experience in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Go or a similar backend language.
• Solid CS fundamentals and distributed systems knowledge.
• Experience with databases and data pipelines.

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer II, Cloud Applications to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will focus on building and improving cloud-based backend services that support reliable, scalable application experiences. You will contribute to distributed systems work with an emphasis on operability, data handling, and thoughtful engineering tradeoffs. The position partners closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver scoped projects that improve both developer productivity and customer outcomes.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud application features with team support
• Build services for namespace provisioning and reliability
• Develop data pipelines for high-volume operational data
• Make engineering tradeoffs balancing performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Enhance service operability through testing and documentation
• Engage in code reviews and production debugging
• Collaborate with teams to deliver scoped projects
• Improve developer experience through automation and tooling

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in backend systems within a cloud environment
• Proficiency in Go or a similar backend language
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals
• Knowledge of distributed systems concepts
• Experience with databases and data pipelines
• Operational mindset with familiarity in production troubleshooting
• Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration
