Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of progressively responsible software engineering or application development experience.
  • Experience developing, enhancing, debugging, testing, or maintaining enterprise or web-based applications across one or more application layers.
  • Experience with modern source control and software-development practices, including Git-based workflows, code reviews, and automated testing.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments and participating in iterative planning, backlog refinement, sprint execution, or Kanban delivery.
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, authentication/authorization concepts, and common integration patterns.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD, cloud platforms, containers, automation, or Infrastructure as Code.
  • Ability to troubleshoot defects, test failures, integration issues, and deployment problems and document findings clearly.
  • Strong analytical, written communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.
  • Must satisfy citizenship, residency, background-investigation, and Public Trust requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, test, debug, and maintain software components supporting OJP digital products, APIs, automation, and internal platforms.
  • Provide software improvements to existing applications and services by implementing enhancements and defect corrections.
  • Translate user stories and technical requirements into working software using Agile practices.
  • Create and maintain automated unit, integration, regression, API, and data tests to improve release quality.
  • Participate in Git-based workflows, code reviews, pull requests, branching, merging, and configuration-management practices.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, build automation, security scanning, artifact or container workflows, and repeatable deployment processes.
  • Develop, consume, test, and maintain APIs and web services through OJP's data-integration environment using REST, JSON, XML, SOAP.
  • Support API integrations with DIAMD including Okta and SailPoint and protocols such as SCIM, OAuth 2.0, and SAML.
  • Collaborate with engineers, DevOps, product managers, and Government stakeholders to deliver secure, compliant, accessible capabilities.
  • Investigate and resolve help desk tickets, defects, test failures, and deployment problems; escalate as needed.
  • Participate in defect triage, root-cause analysis, sprint reviews, and backlog refinement.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and implementation notes for supported products.
