Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer II to support the DOJ, OCIO, improving, maintaining, testing, and supporting secure digital products and services. You will work on APIs, integrations, automated testing, and DevSecOps capabilities for OJP product teams under guidance from senior engineers.

You will develop software components, participate in CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with government stakeholders to deliver secure, accessible solutions using REST/JSON/SOAP and modern tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related tech field; or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two (2) years of progressive software engineering or application development experience.
• Experience with enterprise or web-based applications across one or more layers; familiarity with REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, test, debug, and maintain software components supporting DOJ digital products, APIs, and integrations.
• Provide improvements to existing applications through enhancements, defect fixes, refactoring, and technical debt reduction.
• Translate user stories and requirements into working software using Agile practices.
• Create and maintain automated unit, integration, regression, API, and data tests to improve release quality.
• Participate in Git-based workflows, code reviews, and PRs; manage branching and merging.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, build automation, security scanning, and container workflows.
• Develop and maintain APIs and web services using RESTful standards and related technologies.
• Assist with DIAMD integration (Okta, SailPoint) and security/authentication protocols.
• Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to deliver secure, maintainable capabilities.
• Document technical details, test evidence, and deployment notes for sustained support.
