South Dakota State University ( SDSU ) Division of Technology and Security is offering an exciting career opportunity as a Software Contracts Coordinator. We are looking for a motivated and customerservice oriented professional to join us in managing our software applications. This position is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible located in Brookings, SD and supervised by the Director of Technology Contracts.
The Division of Technology & Security ( DTS ) supports the University’s mission as a high-achieving land-grant institution by overseeing both technology services and safety. DTS manages digital security and regulatory compliance. Its reach extends across the state, providing IT and safety support to Research Stations and Extension Centers, ensuring secure and reliable operations where the University’s work takes place.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Software Contracts Coordinator supports the Director of Technology Contracts in coordinating new software requests and managing software renewals for the University. This role ensures the approved software inventory remains accurate, renewals are proactively managed, and requests are processed efficiently and in compliance with institutional policies.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, routing contracts through the electronic signature system, coordinating with vendors and campus stakeholders, scheduling consultations, maintaining the software inventory, and managing the renewal database. The position collaborates with faculty, staff, and departments such as Information Security, General Counsel, Human Resources (Accessibility), Finance and Budget, and the Administrative Shared Services Center, as well as possible coordination with Board of Regents representatives.
Position requires a team-oriented and adaptable mindset with a commitment to supporting cross-functional partners while following established processes and remaining open to feedback. Initiative and accountability to proactively manage renewals, follow up with stakeholders, and identify process improvements are central to this role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to effectively collaborate across departments, manage vendor relationships, and exercise sound judgment in coordinating complex processes.
