Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a Soft Lines Merchandising Specialist to sort donations, hang sellable items by department and size, and prepare backroom stock for the sales floor.

You will price merchandise according to baseline guidelines, assist customers, and maintain a clean, safe work area while following PPE and safety rules.

This role requires effective communication, flexibility in scheduling, and reliable transportation to support daily store operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact well with individuals with diverse personalities and communication styles.
• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Sort soft goods donations (clothing, linens, etc.) according to GWH quality guidelines to maximize production.
• Hang sellable items and organize by department, category, and size.
• Process donations in the backroom to ensure merchandise is ready for the sales floor.
• Price soft goods merchandise according to baseline pricing guidelines and apply price tags.
• Greet customers and assist with basic questions about store operations and merchandise.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation before, during, and after the shift.
