Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a Soft Lines Merchandising Specialist to sort donations, hang sellable items, and organize merchandise by department, category, and size. You will ensure items meet quality standards and are ready for the sales floor to maximize profitability.

You will price merchandise, tag items, assist donors, and maintain a clean, safe work environment while supporting the Donated Goods Program's mission to transform lives through work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication with diverse individuals.
• Retail sales experience preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Sort soft goods donations according to quality guidelines.
• Hang sellable items and organize by department, category and size.
• Price merchandise and apply price tags using tagging equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation before, during, and after shifts.
• Assist customers with basic questions about store operations and merchandise.
• Assist with unloading donations and loading equipment as needed.
• Ensure PPE is used and safety guidelines are followed.
• Perform housekeeping duties and maintain safe, clutter-free aisles.
