Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a Soft Lines Merchandising Specialist to sort and prepare donated soft goods for sale. You will hang and organize items by size and department, price merchandise, and assist customers with store operations.

The role supports the Donated Goods Program and requires attention to quality standards and efficient backroom processing. Experience in retail or donation-based merchandising is preferred, with a flexible schedule and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact well with individuals with diverse personalities and communication styles.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Sort soft goods donations according to GWH quality guidelines to maximize production.
• Hang sellable items and organize by department, category, and size.
• Process donations in the backroom to ensure merchandise is ready for the sales floor.
• Price soft goods merchandise according to current pricing guidelines and apply price tags.
• Greet customers and assist with basic questions about store operations and merchandise as needed.
• Assist with unloading donations from donor vehicles and maintain a clean workstation.
