Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Soft Goods) in the United States to design, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes for soft goods components, tools, and equipment. You will develop instructions, oversee inspections, and drive RCCA for continuous improvement.

Collaborate with design, materials, quality, and logistics teams to ensure traceability, compliance with specs, and reliable production. A strong background in DFMA/DFMI and textile materials is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant engineering field.
• 4–9 years of experience in soft goods manufacturing.
• Experience with textile and coated-fabric behavior under mechanical load and environmental stresses.
• Proficiency with DFMA/DFMI principles and RCCA methodologies.
• Proven ability to create clear work instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes for soft goods components and tooling.
• Draft and review manufacturing instructions and procedures for soft goods assemblies.
• Inspect materials and equipment; decide disposition per requirements and guidelines.
• Apply RCCA to investigate failures and implement corrective actions.
• Lead documentation maturity for BOMs and travelers; ensure traceability.
• Collaborate with design, materials, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth builds.
