Job summary

Big Rock Ski Area is seeking a Snow School Director who will lead and grow our ski and snowboard instruction programs. This hands-on leadership role oversees daily operations, mentors instructors, schedules lessons, and ensures guest satisfaction with safe, high-quality instruction.

The ideal candidate is an experienced ski/snowboard instructor with leadership skills, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to a welcoming mountain community.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience as a ski or snowboard instructor.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• PSIA-AASI certification or equivalent professional instruction certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of Snow School, including lessons for youth and adults.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Snow School instructors.
• Develop and maintain instructor schedules based on demand and mountain operations.
• Lead instructor training and professional development throughout the season.
• Maintain high standards of lesson quality, safety, professionalism, and guest service.
• Teach lessons as needed and remain actively involved in the Snow School regularly.
• Coordinate lesson programs, youth programs, and special events.
• Work with marketing to promote Snow School programs and identify opportunities.
