Job summary

South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking an ES Eligibility Specialist in Hampton County. The role focuses on administering SNAP, ESAP, and SCCAP programs, performing interviews, and determining client eligibility.

Responsibilities include maintaining confidential case records, handling overpayments, and supporting Fair Hearings. A high school diploma and relevant experience are required, with an associate degree substituting for the experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and one year of relevant program experience in clerical administration, social work, correctional administration, or general business administration.
• An Associate Degree or higher may substitute for the required program experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides SNAP/ESAP/SCCAP eligibility services in accordance with laws, regulations, and agency policies.
• Conducts 15 quality interviews per day via phone or in person for SNAP related processes.
• Processes SNAP, ESAP, and SCCAP applications and recertifications and determines eligibility.
• Maintains case records in agency systems ensuring timely, accurate documentation and confidentiality.
• Manages ABAWD caseloads, updates tracking systems, and assists clients with eligibility determinations.
• Identifies and documents overpayments; prepares supporting materials for Fair Hearings and related processes.
• Participates in required trainings and staff meetings; protects PII and agency networks.
• Performs emergency shelter duties as required and other related duties.
