Job summary

South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking an ES Eligibility Specialist to administer SNAP, ESAP and SCCAP programs. You will conduct interviews, determine eligibility, and authorize benefits while maintaining strict confidentiality and accurate records.

The role includes ABAWD caseload management, documenting overpayments, and participating in trainings. A high school diploma with relevant experience is required, with an associate degree or higher as a substitution option.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 1 year of relevant program experience in clerical administration, social work, correctional administration, and general business administration.

Responsibilities

• Processes SNAP, ESAP, and SCCAP applications and/or recertifications by determining eligibility and authorizing benefits when applicable.
• Maintains case records and files in the agency system for documentation and auditing purposes.
• Documents client work participation activities and enters timely documentation in SCOSA.
• Identifies and documents overpayments and prepares supporting documents for Fair Hearings.
• Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter services as directed.
