Job summary

Siemens Smart Building Internship Program in Laurel, MD seeks interns for May–June 2027 to gain hands-on experience in HVAC automation and building systems.

You'll rotate through field technician work, sales exposure, and project services, collaborating with engineering teams to resolve discrepancies and support safe, energy‑efficient building solutions.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential; on‑site work, lifting up to 75 pounds, and MS Office proficiency are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pursuing or completed 2-year technical college program in HVAC Controls, Building Automation, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Able to work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks (May–July or June–August).
• Willing to work onsite with no relocation/housing stipend.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Comfortable with field environments (rooftops, mechanical rooms, crawl spaces).
• Hands-on role using tools, laptops, tablets, and other tech to review programs.

Responsibilities

• Spend most time on job sites with Siemens technicians learning installation, programming and service of HVAC/building automation systems.
• Limited exposure to sales; learn how building solutions are designed and presented to customers.
• Rotate through service and project delivery teams to support installation, maintenance and upgrades.
• Assist in diagnosing issues, performing maintenance and commissioning of systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve drawing discrepancies and address challenges.
• Document service activities, explain system operations to customers, and assist in hand-off.
