Job summary

Siemens Mobility is offering a Building Automation Systems Specialist Internship in the Baltimore, MD area. Interns will gain hands-on experience with HVAC automation, building controls, and service operations, working alongside field technicians and engineers.

The program runs for 10 weeks (May–August 2027) with an 80/10/10 focus on field work, sales exposure, and project/service operations. Candidates must be enrolled in a related technical program and be able to work onsite full-time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a 2-year technical program in HVAC, building automation or related field.
• Able to work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks (May–July or June–August).
• Onsite work with no relocation/housing stipend.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Comfortable with field work in varied environments; lifts up to 75 pounds.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic software learning.
• Good communication to document work and explain issues to customers.

Responsibilities

• Spend ~80% on field technician tasks on job sites installing, programming, and servicing HVAC automation systems in commercial buildings.
• Gain exposure to sales by shadowing the sales team and learning how solutions are designed.
• Rotate through service operations to understand project delivery and maintenance.
• Assist in diagnosing issues, performing maintenance and commissioning new installations.
• Collaborate with engineering/project management to resolve drawing discrepancies and address challenges.
• Interact with customers to document activities and provide basic training on system operations.
