Job summary

Siemens Morristown, NJ is offering a Smart Building Intern position designed to pair hands-on field experience with foundational building automation training. You’ll work onsite at NY Metro area sites supporting technicians, sales exposure, and project operations during a 10-week program starting June 7.

You’ll gain exposure to HVAC controls, building automation, and customer interfaces, while developing practical skills in troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Students currently enrolled in or recently completed a 2-year technical college pursuing HVAC controls, building automation, or related programs.
• Available to work 40 hours per week for the 10-week program (May–July or June–August).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• Comfortable in dynamic environments including rooftops, mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, and behind ceilings.

Responsibilities

• Spend most time on job sites with Siemens technicians installing, programming, and servicing HVAC automation systems.
• Gain exposure to sales by spending time with the sales team and learning how solutions are designed for customers.
• Rotate through service operations to understand installation, maintenance, and upgrades for buildings.
• Assist in diagnosing issues and supporting new installations and system commissioning.
• Document service activities and communicate with customers and teams to ensure smooth hand‑offs.
