Job summary

Siemens Mobility invites students to join its Building Automation Systems Specialist Internship in the Miami/ Miramar area. You will spend most of your time on job sites with experienced technicians, learning HVAC automation installation, programming, and service in commercial buildings.

You’ll also shadow the sales team and rotate through service/project delivery to understand end-to-end support. The role emphasizes hands-on learning, collaboration with engineering, and customer communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in or recent completion of a 2-year technical program in HVAC controls/building automation or related field.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks (May–July or June–August).
• Must be able to work onsite in Miami/Miramar, FL without visa sponsorship.
• Comfortable with hands-on, field-based work and using basic tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Spend most time on job sites learning HVAC automation installation, programming, and servicing in commercial buildings.
• Spend time with sales team to understand how building solutions are designed and offered.
• Rotate through service and project delivery teams to learn installation-to-maintenance workflows.
• Visit customer sites with technicians to diagnose issues and perform basic repairs or installations.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve drawing discrepancies.
• Document service activities and communicate system operations to customers and team.
