Job summary

Siemens Mobility invites applicants for a Smart Building Systems Specialist Intern role based in Rolling Meadows, IL, to gain hands-on experience in HVAC controls and building automation. You will work with experienced technicians on installation, programming, and service, while also learning how projects are scoped and delivered.

The program blends field work, collaboration with sales, engineering, and project management, and on-site problem solving with real customers.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Pursuing or completed 2-year technical program in HVAC controls/building automation or related field.
Ability to work onsite 40 hours/week for 10 weeks (May–Aug).
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Comfortable with hand tools, laptops, tablets, and field environments.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Spend most time on job sites with technicians to learn installation, programming, and service of HVAC automation systems.
Gain exposure to how sales teams design building solutions for performance and safety.
Rotate through service and project delivery teams to understand installation to maintenance.
Visit customer sites to diagnose issues, perform maintenance, and assist in commissioning.
Collaborate with engineering/project teams to resolve discrepancies in drawings.
Document service activities and provide basic training to customers.
