Job summary

Siemens Mobility invites you to join the Smart Building Internship program in the Minneapolis area. You will spend most of your time on job sites with experienced technicians, installing, programming, and servicing advanced HVAC automation and building systems in commercial environments.

You’ll also gain exposure to sales and project operations, work with engineering and project management to resolve issues, and document activities for customers while learning upgrades to improve energy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrolled in or recently completed a 2-year technical program in HVAC/building automation or related field.
• Available to work 40 hours/week for 10-week program (May–July or June–August).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Comfortable working in dynamic environments (roofs, mechanical rooms, crawl spaces).
• Hands-on role using hand tools, laptops, tablets, smartphones to review programs and troubleshoot systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows-based laptops; quick to learn new software for automation.

Responsibilities

• Spend most time on job sites with experienced technicians learning installation, programming, and service of HVAC automation systems.
• Spend time with the sales team to understand how building solutions are designed and sold.
• Rotate through service and project operations to understand installation, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Visit customer sites with technicians to troubleshoot and support new installations and commissioning.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve discrepancies in drawings or address challenges.
• Document service activities and explain system operations to customers; suggest upgrades for performance and value.
